Roman Grill was drafted in 1943 at age 34. He completed Signal Corps basic training at Camp Crowder, Missouri, and was assigned to the 6th USAAF at Albrook Field, Panama Canal Zone. He was a graphic artist on the 6th Air Force magazine, "Caribbean Breeze". Roman was discharged in 1946 and returned to the private sector in St. Paul, Minnesta where he worked as an art director and creative director until his retirement in 1987.
