Peter Theobald was born in Winterbach, Prussia Nov 11,1838 and came to the United States about 1857 with his family. He married Minnie Schwartzkoph and they settled in Titusville, PA in 1870, where they raised their seven children.

Peter was a proprietor of a restaurant and saloon in Titusville in the 1870s. He later founded a small oil refinery, which was absorbed by Standard Oil, at which time he founded the Independent Oil Refining Company of Oil City.

Peter died in Titusville on Oct 21, 1918.

Nicely done old photograph of young man in glasses & suit, also wearing a pocket watch. Printed on bottom right of photo is "Malcolm McNeille, 45 High Street, Warwick." I googled this address, and now there is listed Peppers Indian Cuisine, 45 High Street
Warwick, B80 7HN, United Kingdom. So perhaps this is where the old McNeille photo studio was located?! Pencilled on back of this photo is "666" - I don't have any idea what that is supposed to mean! Pic "rescued" from Antiques & More, Navy Blvd, Pensacola FL. Do you recognize this person?
