William James Young and his horse and grater

William James Young with his horse and grader on the Samuel Young family farm, Inlet Road, Harmonsburg, Summit Twp, Crawford Co, PA.

William James Young was the son of James Alfred Young and Margaret "Maggie" Davis and grandson of Samuel Young and Catherine Mercer. He farmed in Summit Township from 1902 till 1923 when he moved to Mercer Co, PA and worked for the Bessemer Railroad.

The farm barn and out buildings still exist today but are unusable. The farm is located about one mile north of Harmonsburg on Inlet Road, about a 1/4 mile east of the road.

Photo taken about 1910.
