Americans Freed From Italian Sub

Americans Freed From Italian Sub

Second Lt. E.S. Millechamp. left of Lake Wales, Florida, and 2nd Lt. J.C. Lenz, right, of Paris Texas, both American pilots, owe their freedom to Flying Officer J.N. Cartwright, center, of the Mediterranean as prisoners of war. The flyers had been forced down in axis held territory in Africa. They were rescued after leaping from the sinking submarine and were taken to Malta.
