Killed In Action: Gillespie, January 13, Mrs. Ida Wilson received a message Tuesday morning advising her of the death of her son, Pfc. Ralph E. Wilder. The message reads: The secretar of war desires me to express his deep regret that your son, Private First Class Ralph E. Wilder, was killed in action in defense of his country in south Pacific area on December 26. Letter follows. Ulio the Adjutant General.
The last letter recived by Mrs. Wilson from her son was on December 3. Young Wilder was home on furlough from Camp Forrest at Tullahoma, Tennassee in October 1941, and while there volunteered for duty in the tropics. Mrs Wilson has two other sons in the service of the country. David Arnold Wilder in U.S. Navy the last five years and Pvt. Asie Wilder in Army.
Besides his brothers in the Navy and Army and his mother, Ralph Wilder is survived by a brother Homer, who resides with his mother and two sisters Etta, wife of Leo Hendricks, and Florence, wife of Marion Meyers of this city. WW11
