William Thomas Evans and his wife Louisa Jane White with some of their children. Taken in Bienville Parish, Louisiana sometime around 1900. This line of Evans descended from Turner Evans and Ridley Wood of Georgia.
There were 8 daughters in this family and it is uncertain which ones are pictured. But the elder bearded gentleman seated was William Thomas Evans. His wife, Louisa Jane White Evans, stands above him and Belton Evans (born 1882) stands to the right of her. It is uncertain which child, who is mostly out of the picture, stands below Belton. There were three other boys in this family in addition to Belton.
Louisa Jane White was born 1856 in Mississippi.
This family lived in Bienville Parish, Louisiana (in the Sparta area) when this picture was probably taken ca 1895. William Thomas Evans was born in the White River area of Arkansas 1851. He was supposedly born out of a covered wagon while his parents John A. and Elmira Wharton Evans were enroute from Georgia to Louisiana. John A. Evans was born 1817 in Baldwin County, GA to Turner and Ridley Wood Evans. Turner Evans was born around 1793 in Georgia probably, and Ridley Wood's family came to Georgia from North Carolina. Her father's name was Willis Wood.
