Donald Page Davis was born 6 Jul 1888 in Crawford County, PA, to Andrew T. and Mary Elizabeth Newbold Davis, both of Crawford Co., PA.

Donald was given the middle name Page after Rev. J. P. Page, who married his parents at the Free Baptist Church in Crawford Co., PA, 3 Jun 1885.

Donald graduated from Edinboro State College in 1910. He did his post graduate work at Grove City College in the summers of 1911-1914. He received a B. A. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1920; A. M. in 1930, Ph.D, 1935.

He married Mildred B. Peters 28 Jun 1910, daughter of Frank Cameron Peters and Alda Lovenia Vickers Peters.

Donald was an elementary teacher in Crawford County from 1906-1909, high school teacher and principal, 1910-1916, Elementary School principal in Westmoreland Co., PA, 1921-25; Superintendent of Schools, Arnold, PA, 1925-1936; Director of Business Administration, Finance, PA State Department of Public Instruction, Harrisburg, PA, 1942-1958; Regional field rep, Denver 1954. He received the Award of Merit from the U. S. Office of Education in 1953 and was member of the PA State Educators Assn, N. E. A. Am Assn. Donald Page Davis died 5 Feb 1978.
