The back of the original photo that came from the Phipps-Kahle Homestead at Elmo (near Knox), Clarion County, states in handwriting on the back, "Uncle Harmon Phipps & sisters Kate Kahle, Rilla Carmen, Maud Weaver." [commas added for clarity]. Harmon Phipps was a Civl War veteran. "Kate Kahle" was Keturah Phipps Kahle (1844-1928. married to Civil War Vet, Nathaniel Lang Kahle). "Rilla Carmen" (may be accurately spelled as Carmon) had as her full name Trevilla Phipps Carmon. I have no further information about her husband. "Maud Weaver" was Maud (or Mary) Phipps Weaver and the wife of William Weaver. The parents of these people were Christena Ghost Phipps (1814 - 1898) and Nathan Phipps (1808 - 1873). Harmon is obviously at right. Keturah, a.k.a. Katie Kahle, is the woman on the left.
