Thomas Benton Carnahan Jr

Thomas Benton Carnahan Jr. (1903-1949) was killed in a military plane crash in California in 1949, while he was on a training mission from Texas to California. The plane crashed into a mountain due to weather conditions

He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery with his wife Mildred Marie Offineer. Thomas was the son of Thomas Benton Carnahan, Sr. (1861-1947) and Bessie English of Pittsburgh, PA. Thomas Sr. was the nephew of Thomas A. Carnahan (1819-1900), a Civil War Veteran who lost his leg in battle in 1861.

Thomas Jr. has two sons Thomas Benton Carnahan III of Oregon and Sanford Byron Carnahan of California.
