Hon. Lester K. Kirk

Lester K. Kirk was born 6 Dec 1841 in Mahoning County, OH, and moved to Mercer County, PA, as a child with his parents.  

He enlisted in Company G, 100th Pennsylvania Infantry in Aug 1861 and by Jun 1864, had been promoted to Captain. He received a severe wound to his left shoulder. 

After he was released from service, Lester K. Kirk entered law school in Iowa. He moved to Kansas in 1866.  

He served as Mayor of Garnett, Kansas; member of the Kansas State Legislature and as a member the Kansas State Senate.
