Ira Leroy Taylor was born in 1867 in McKean County, PA. He married Myrtle Holcomb in 1893 and they had a son, Paul, born in Washington, DC in 1893. It is unknown why they were there.
In 1894 the family went to Oklahoma Territory for the land rush. There two daughters were born: Pearle Edith and Myrtle, in 1896 and 1897, respectively.
Ira was the second of eight children: Charles, Harry, Clara, Harriet, Wallace, William, and David (who was later adopted by Sarah Howard and changed his name to David North).
Ira remarried a woman by the name of Olive Schoonover and had three more daughters: Eva b. 1903, Mary "Mamie" E. b. 1905, and Gladys b. 1907.
Ira L. Taylor died in 1944, at the age of 77.
