Thirteen Children Gather for Yuletide Reunion at Pennsylvania Town – Turkey Dinner is Enjoyed

A family of thirteen children of the late W.W. and Laura J. Pyle, formerly of Dinsmore, Pa., held a reunion at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Willard Milligan at Bulger, Pa., on Christmas Day. The honor guest was Joshua O. Pyle of Santa Ana , Cal. , who left Pennsylvania 20 years ago, this being his first trip back to the homefolks. More than 40 were present and all enjoyed the day. The members of the Pyle family are all large, nine of them weighting over 200 pounds each. At noon a five course turkey dinner was served. The house was gaily decorated in holiday colors with an immense tree in the living room for the kiddies; with old Santa on the job. The afternoon was spent in singing old time songs and in recalling incidents of their childhood days when they were all home back on the farm near Dinsmore. Those present were Mrs. Lyte M. Scott of Barberton, Ohio ; J. McCorkle Pyle, wife and two daughters of Burgettstown , Pa. ; Mrs. Anna L. Malone of Steubenville, Ohio; Thos. H. Pyle, wife and daughter of Steubenville, Ohio; Nettie Pyle of Bertha, Pa,; Walter Scott Pyle, wife and, three sons and two daughters of Derry, Pa.; Jesse C. Pyle of Greensburg, Pa.; Joshua O. Pyle and wife of Santa Ana, Cal.; Harry B. Pyle of Burgettstown , Pa. ; Mr. And Mrs. S.W. Milligan, two sons and daughter of Bulger, Pa.; Brainard Roy Pyle of Springdale, Pa.; Wallace R. Pyle of Bertha, Pa,; E. Lee Pyle, wife and two sons of Belington, W. Va. Also a cousin, Dr. W.T. Pyle with wife and Daughter of Swissvale, Pa. was present. After the dinner and merriment, a photographer arrived and a photo was taken of all and then separate pictures of the thirteen Pyle children, the youngest being past the 80 year mark.
