HOUSE family, Arkansas and Georgia

I'd love to claim this photo as a branch of my HOUSE / ANDREWS line that came 1856 from Wilkes / Lincoln GA to eastern Arkansas ..St Francis / Monroe County. George N. HOUSE b about 1828 to Unknown parents in GA, though there were HOUSE families on the 1850 census nearby him, but he doesn't yet 'fit' into any of the families. In 1850, he was Overseer in the household of Michael L. ANDREWS and wife Barthena (Parthenia) PULLIN in Lincoln, GA. He married 1851 their daughter Parthenia b about 1835. They came 1856 with the ANDREWS family and ll those children that were on the 1850 census in Lincoln Co and George and Parthenia already had a child of their own ...Julia Ann Caledonia "Cally" HOUSE b about 1854 in GA. In Arkansas her sister Martha Caroline HOUSE was born 1856. Julia married first to T.S. BROMLEY / BRUMBLEY (variety spellings) who died and she remarried John ALLMAN and left Monroe County, Brinkley area of AR and moved to Jackson County near her half sister Clara COOPER McLAIN who is my great grandmother. Martha C. HOUSE married William D. PUGH and I've tracked her line of children to Kerens, Navarro Co, TX.

The HOUSE family in Georgia was pretty big and I think some came to West TN, and possibly some of the line did move into Arkansas. I have found some very near my McLAIN line that was in Lawrence County AR after 1850 (and some earlier I think).

The half sister Clara I mentioned is a child of Parthenia ANDREWS HOUSE in her last marriage to Dillard L. COOPER b 1838 SC. George HOUSE died during or after the Civil War and Parthenia ANDREWS (used ANDERS in AR) remarried Ed HOLLEMAN / HOLMUN who died 1873. (Bible Record) In Aug 1876, Parthenia remarried for the last time to Dillard L. COOPER in Brinkley, Monroe Co AR and the 1880 census shows a combined family from Dillard's 1st marriage to Martha HELMS and Parthenia's children, as well as 2 of Dillard's nephews. Clara COOPER was born July 1878 to Dillard and Parthenia and in 1898 she married in her mother's home in Brinkley as th 2nd wife of William David McLAIN ..and they made their home in Newport, Jackson Co, AR. Dillard L. COOPER died April 1884 (bible record) from pneumonia after fighting a wild fire that threatened his split rail fence.

I have no knowledge of any male HOUSE children born to George N. HOUSE and Parthenia ANDREWS. I have them together as husband and wife only on the 1860 census, as by 1870 she is married to Ed HOLLEMAN (HOLMUN). Since her daughter Julia Ann "Callie" HOUSE was living with Parthenia's brother Charley in 1870, I can only assume she was helping Charley keep house as he was single then. He also had Henry PULLEN in his household, the surviving child of Charley and Parthenia's sister, Julia Ann ANDREWS PULLEN MUNNS who had died 1862, followed shortly after by her 2nd husband William MUNNS, in St Francis County (Probate records in Woodruff Co AR). HEr first husband James PULLEN had died perhaps on the trip from GA or before they left. I've lost track of what happened to Henry PULLEN ....and frankly I thought he was named James ...or perhaps James was a MUNNS son.

The other two ANDREWS sisters married MUNNS brothers. Mary Catherine married Andrew Jackson MUNNS in AR and yer younger sister Henrietta Elizabeth married Samuel Riley MUNNS ..a son of James and Francis MUNNS. All the MUNNS brothers were children of James. I've lost the line after 1880, with the exception of Mary Catherine's son Floyd who married Sarah "Sallie" COBB in Monroe Co AR, and perhaps I have correctly tracked her son George W. MUNNS from AR into Memphis in the early 1900s. I lose Mary C.and Andrew J. MUNNS after the 1880 census.

I would be happy to learn more about the HOUSE family of George N. HOUSE b about 1828 GA. Was his father Lott or Liston (Leiston) ? No evidence to prove that. Did he have family that went to perhaps Maury Co TN and then into Arkansas? Are the photos here of people kin to him? I don't know.
