Alfred York was born in Owsley Co. KY. Mr. York was a Private of Captain John Pennington's Company A 47 Regiment of Kentucky Infantry Volunteers. He enrolled on July 3, 1863. He was married Sarah Cope the daughter of Micager and Polly Brewer Cope December 14, 1858. The Cope Family came to Jackson County from Hancock County TN.

Mr. & Mrs. York lived in the Chinquapin Rough area of Jackson County (Annville) KY with their 6 children. They were members of the Chinquapin Rough Baptist Church of which she, her father and mother were charter members.

A.B. and Mary Elizabeth Lainhart Rose in the yard at their home on Rock Lick Creek in Jackson Co. KY. Aunt Mandy, Mary's sister is in the back ground. Their granddaughter Farizina Rose is the young lady.

Mr. Rose ran a steam power sawmill on the creek.

Andrew Craig McFarland Family

Andrew Craig McFarland was born Jan 8, 1847 in Whitley Co. KY. He married Sarah Kelen Steele daughter of Jonas and Elizabeth Grubb Steele. The family moved to Foxtown in Jackson County KY, some time after 1878. The family has been unable to complete the family album. We are still searching for pictures of Sarah, Cora and Elihu McFarland.

Children of A. C. And Sarah are: Barbara Ellen Johnson Gabbard, Walker McFarland, Laura Spivey, Richard, Nannie Hatfield McQueen, Elihu, Cora Johnson Vinie Rose and Verna McFarland Lainhart.
