Basketball team during the 1937-38 school year.

On the team (in no particular order): Vincent Joy, Sabastian Trusso, Eric Lundgren, Louis Ferro, Frank Martines (Martini), Anthony Zanghi - all lettermen (possibly these are the players in the front row). The coach was Rolland H. Taft.

The rest of the players are unknown. Recognize anyone? Please let me know.

Rev. William H. Hover was born in West Salem, Pa., 13 May 1835 to Henry and Elizabeth Bernhard Hover.

He became a Methodist minister and pastored at many churches in Pennsylvania and New York.

He died at his home in Fredonia, NY, on 28 Nov 1910.

Pearl nee Chambers, daughter of James Moris and Effie nee Hatch Chambers. She was a teacher.

Rev. Andrew Ellis

Andrew C. Ellis was born in Detroit, MI, Dec 4, 1851, and died June 26, 1923, at Meadville, Crawford Co., PA.

He graduated from Allegheny College in 1878, and became the pastor of the First Methodist Church in Meadville in 1884. He then pastored at: Jamestown, NY; Smithfield St. Methodist Church, Pittsburgh; Trinity Methodist, Oil City; First Methodist Church, Erie.

He married Adella McMunn. They became the parents of four children.

Ann Jane, also known as "Jennie Ann" Cole Hunt, born April 28, 1846 Covington, KY to Charles and Clara Hunt Cole. She married Henry Hunt, son of Amos Hunt and Amy of New York, on Nov 30, 1865 in Fredonia, NY. Jennie Ann died July 6, 1921 in Fairview, Erie Co, PA.

Photo probably taken somewhere on their farm in rural Fairview twp.

Mary Fisk Steadman

Mary Fisk was born in Ellington, NY, on 14 Aug 1833, the daughter of David and Mary Fisk.
She married Darius S. Steadman, 17 Nov 1854, and became the mother of three children. Rev. Steadman was a Methodist minister for the Erie Conference.

Rev. Steadman pastored at Shippensville, Clarion, Brookville, Forestville and Sheridan, Plumer and Pithole, Fredonia, Dunkirk, Wattsburg, Townville, Saegertown, Millerstown, Tidioute, Espyville, Knox, and Beech Tree. He died in 1907.

Mary Fisk Steadman died 20 Jan 1912 at Meadville, Crawford Co., PA.
