 <description>&lt;p&gt;Son of John Morris (1774-1852) and Matilda Decker (1790-1836) of McKean Co PA.  Born in Portville, NY in 1815, he died in Olean, Cattaraugus Co., NY in 1887.  Married Elizabeth Cordelia Knapp, May 1837 in Olean, Cattaraugus Co., NY.  Parents of eight children, born in various counties in New York and Pennsylvania, including Dr. J.E.K. Morris of Olean, NY.  Occupation: Baptist Minister.  Established churches and taught at schools from Buffalo to Pittsburgh.  Famed evangelist, Jacob Knapp Jr. (1799-1874), was the stepbrother of Elizabeth. Donated by Charles Augustus Millard (1910-1995).&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Unknown Man and Boy</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;This photo was found in the walls of the house built by John Morris (1774-1852) and Matilda Decker (1790-1836) at State Line Mills, McKean, PA in the 1830&#039;s when it was remodeled by Inga (Thwing) Buckley.  This house is still standing.  Its present address is RD 1, Box 190 Eldred, Pennsylvania 16731. Newspapers used as insulation were dated 1900-1907.  The photo is a large charcoal drawing.  Donated by John and Inga Buckley (nee Thwing).&lt;/p&gt;

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Barret &amp;amp; Arvilla were my aunt and uncle. Barrett was born in McKean Co., PA in 1898 and died in Custer, Whatcom Co., WA in 1974. Arvilla was born in Clearfield Co., PA in 1907 and died in Custer, Whatcom Co., WA in 1979. She was the oldest of 13 children born to my paternal grandparents. Barrett and Arvilla had 12 children of their own.&lt;/p&gt;

 <description>&lt;p&gt;&quot;Frank J. Newton, merchant, Rixford, was born in Sharon Township, Potter Co., PA., August 31, 1859, and is a son of Alonzo and Angeline (Warner) Newton.  His father was a native of Bainbridge, Chenango Co., NY and among the pioneer farmers and lumberman of Sharon Township, and a farmer and lumberman by occupation.  Frank J. Newton was reared and educated in his native township [i.e. Shinglehouse] and located to Rixford, McKean county in 1879, where he openned a general store in company with George W. Dodge, and they have since conducted a successful business under the firm name of Dodge &amp;amp; Newton.  Mr. Newton married, February 10, 1881, Ruth Russell of Bufalo, NY and they have four children: Nellie, George, Esther and Nelson. [Son Frank J. Newton Jr. -- Mr. Grandfather -- arrived in 1893] Mr. Newton is a leading merchant and citizen of Rixford.  He is a Royal Arch Mason and a member of Council No. 43 of Bradford, PA.  Politically he is a Republican.&quot;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I sent for and received a death certificate on Frank James Newton, Sr. and that occurred on January 24, 1944.&lt;/p&gt;
