Sophia Ferguson Aldridge Messer, Born May 8, 1898 in Wayne County, WV, Died March 3, 1928 in Holden Hospital, Logan County, West Virginia, Buried at the Foley Cemetery, Logan County, West Virginia.

Daughter of Joe Ferguson born in Wayne County, WV and Nancy Finley born in Kentucky.

Sophia's first husband was a Mr. Aldridge and they had one son. Sophia's second marriage was to Morgan Messer born Nov. 14, 1900 in Lincoln County, WV and died Oct. 11 1981 in Logan County, WV. Morgan was the son of James "Redhead" Messer and Cordelia Abbott.

Sophia had three sisters, Gertrude (married a Baisden), Sarah (married a Green/e) and Elizabeth.

John Kelley Jones b. May 1, 1921 - d. April 1981 in Mingo Co., WV

Photo taken in the early 1940s while both served in the CCC's (Three C's camp) in Logan and/or Mingo County, West Virginia.

Ira Lewis Workman, known to friends and family as Lewis, born June 16, 1895 at Omar, WV, he was the son of Jacob "Jake" Workman and Nancy Ann Farley and the grandson of Nimrod Workman and Sabra Evans.

Siblings of Lewis are Landon, Samuel, Vicey, Grover and Wilburn Workman.

Ira Lewis Workman was born June 16, 1895 at Omar, Logan County, WV and he died May 23, 1946 at Elk Creek, Delbarton, Mingo County, WV, buried at Elk Creek; The son of Jacob "Jake" Workman born 1869 in WV and Nancy Ann Farley born 1869 in WV.

Frances Ball born Jan. 15, 1903 at Irish Creek, Lawrence County, KY; died June 16, 1978 in Mingo County, WV; buried at Elk Creek, Delbarton, Mingo County, WV; the daughter of Lewis Edward Ball and Elizabeth Young.

Ira Lewis Workman and Frances Ball were married September 10, 1918 at Chauncy, WV. They were the parents of:

* Douglas "Doug" Workman born June 6, 1919 died Dec. 1984
* Samuel "Sam" Workman born Nov. 11, 1921 died Sept. 26, 1979
* Luther Workman born Feb. 22, 1924 died Dec. 1982 in Vinton, OH
* Lora Workman Jewell born May 25, 1930 died July 23, 2003
* and four living chldren.
