Genevieve Donohoe married George Washington Thomas on October 17, 1925 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lowell, Massachusetts. She was born in 1903, the daughter of Owen Donohoe and Catherine J. McSorley. He was born in 1897, the son of Robert J. Thomas and Nellie Walsh.

George and Genevieve had seven children together: Catherine, John "Jack", George, Kevin, Brendan, Allan, and Ellen. She was a loving wife and mother who later enjoyed spending time at the beach. Genevieve and George were happily married for 31 years when she had a stroke and died on May 23, 1959. She and George are buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Lowell.
