Oliver J. and Rebecca Naomi Michael Shaffer

Oliver J. Shaffer, Rebecca Naomi Michael Shaffer and child, believed to be Oliver "Paul" Shaffer, eldest of the children who lived. Oliver Shaffer lost his first wife, who was only 16 years old, and a baby girl. He then married Rebecca Naomi Michael and they lost their first 3 babies, then 3 lived, and then 3 more died, another son was born, then another baby died, and then two more daughters were born! "Many tears they wept!"
Oliver and Rebecca Naomi Michael Shaffer lived between Mayport and North Freedom, just off Rte. 536. Rebecca Naomi spent her last years living in North Freedom as a widow, after Oliver died from injuries after being kicked in stomach cranking a tractor to thresh. He was a thresherman by trade.
