John M Splane born in Canada 6/1831, living in Neosho Co., Tiaga Twp., KS He received his citizenship in 1860.
Woman in photo is either Jane Matilda McCurchin, born in Canada or Sarah A. (?) who was his second wife. Jane died Feb. 6, 1878 in Kansas and he married Sarah that very year.
John was a member of the 9th Kansas Calvary Company C in the Civil War and was discharged in Arkansas.

Judging by the clothing which is late 1880-1900's and the age of John appears to be, I would guess that this is Sara in the photo. Do you have any information about Myrtle Edna (John & Jane Matilda's daughter)Splane's daughter, Anna May? Searching to locate information concerning a child she might have, Viola May Collyar who was born May 31, 1931. Thanks for any help you might be able to give.
