George Washington Davisson Family 1912

George Washington Davisson Family 1912

Photograph taken in 1912 of George Washington Davisson and his Wife Nora May (Godfrey) Davisson. Nora is holding their first Daughter Hazel May (Davisson) Higdon. The boys from the left to the right in the photograph are Lewis Albert Davisson, Franklin Thomas Davisson, & William Edward Davisson. George and Nora would have eleven more children. Twelve of 15 would survive to adulthood including the four pictured here. Hazel is my Grandmother, My Mother's Mother.

Photo was taken in Yuma County, Colorado. Geroge Washington Davisson homesteaded near the town of Kirk, Colorado which is where they would have lived when this photograph was taken. I am "guessing" this photograph to be taken in the town of Wray, Colorado (probably nearest large town with a photo studio)

The Davisson homestead is still in the family and is currently ran by his youngest daughter Sarah Ann Davisson, and is a Colorado Centenial farm.

Submitted by Stephen Michael Schneider, Great grandson of George Washington Davisson via his daughter Hazel May Davisson whom married James Coyle Higdon. Their first child Erma Jane Higdon is my Mother, my father was Stephen Allan Schneider
