Anthony V. Antonacci and James P. McGaha: Men Honored at Great Lakes

Anthony Vito Antonacci, 31, so of Mr and Mrs. Vito Antonacci, of Riverton and James Patrick McGaha, 20, son of Mrs Julia McGaha of Auburn, were chosen honor men of their companies, which were graduated from recruit training at the Great Lakes Naval Training Station.
Owner of two business establishments in Riverton, Antonacci entered the Navy several weeks ago as a apprentice seaman. Through a series of aptitude tests given the 130 men of his company, he was selected to attend the Navy's school for aviation machinists.
McGaha left his classes at a welding school in Springfield several weeks ago to enlist i the Navy as a apprentice seaman. He also was selected to attend the school for aviation machinists. He was graduated in 1941 from Auburn Consolidated High School where he starred in track, football, and basketball, serving as co-captain in the later two sports in his senior year.
