Central Illinois Soldiers to Alaska
Fifteeh of the sixteen central Illinois soldiers pictured above have been sent to Alaska from Fort Lawton, near Seattle, Washington. Sgt Walter H. Brazelton of Springfield, Illinois, in the light shirt in the center of the front row, dropped into Springfield today with this picture taken at Fort Lawton. He has finished duty in Alaska and is ow entroute to Fort Benning, Georgia, officers training and subsequently a commission. Brazelton has been in the army about three years. He said the above group, excluding himself, arrived i a group and were dispatched in a group to Alaska.
