B24 Bomber "Spirit of Pocahontas"
The town of Pocahontas Iowa raised bonds to pay for a B24 bomber in WWII. It was named the "Spirit of Pocahontas". Story has it that the plane builder often used one plane to photograph the many "Spirits" dedicated to cities and towns across America. They would just change the name. Many of this county's war veterans are honored in a black granite memorial in the city's square today.
