Born 11 - Jun - 1851 Jefferson Co. PA, died 4 - Apr - 1928 Hot Springs, South Dakota, died in Fall River Co. South Dakota from gangrene due to diabetes. Buried at Laurell Hill Cemetery in Des Moines, Polk Co. Iowa next to his wife Ella Laura Nofsker Steele. A stone from his quarry in South Dakota marks their grave which only reads Mrs. W. A. Steele.
