Clockwise: W. Adam McInturff, James H. McInturff, Catherine Ann Clapp McInturff, and M. Caroline Jones McInturff. These brothers emigrated from Kentucky to Williamson County, IL in 1855. Deed books record that James owned land then James and Adam bought land together in Oct 1856. James emigrated to Clifton/Vining, KS in 1882, following his sons James H. 1880, P. Isaac 1881, daughter Elizabeth Emaline and son-in-law William H. Taylor 1881. Adam farmed in Williamson County, IL. The photograph was taken in Clifton, KS apparently during a family visit. This James H. McInturff was the father of James H. McInturff, the owner of the mercantile.
