Man O' War, the racing horse
This picture of Man O'War, the freat race horse which was king of the turf in 1919-1920, was taken as he was led to his barn at Lexington, Kentucky, to receive hundreds of visitors on his 25th birthday. With the great horse is Will Harbut his caretaker and the only person who ever handles "Big Red". Man O'War won 20 out of 21 races in his big competitive years, 1919-1920. He has sired more than 250 sons and daughters whose earnings total more than $2,ooo,ooo. Among them were two Kentucky Derby winners, Clyde Van Dusen and War Admiral( this name may be incorrect as the paper is very old and was obtained from a scrap book.
