Edwin Francis Jemison

Edwin Francis Jemison served as a Private in the 2nd Louisiana Regiment, C.S.A. He saw action in the Peninsula campaign under General J. B. Magruder and was killed in the battle of Malvern Hill, July 1862.

150 years ago 1862/2012. at that time, during the Malvern Hill battle, Jemison was part of a Georgia infantry regiment. This photo was taken earlier in 1861 before the CONFEDERATE ARMY needed men from the frontiere states to serve in Virginia. On this photo, it's quite sure that JEMISON was still in this 2nd Louisiana cavalry regiment. A Poor boy who saw death at the age of 17.
