Sarah Elizabeth Moats Shipp, the woman in front, b. Feb 6, 1865 Cheat River, WV, died Feb 2, 1965 in Port Jervis, NY, daughter of Jacob P. Moats and Sarah Everetts.

Etta Virginia King Shipp, wife of Rufus Russell Shipp, b. Dec 14 1910 in Deer Park, MD, died July 29, 1974, in Matamoras, PA.

Sarah moats
Sarah Moats is my great grandmother. I lived in the same house with her in Port Jervis NY until I was 9 years old, when she died. I used to sleep with her. We called her Granny. Richard Shipp is not her son, he is her grandson. Richard is the son of Rufus Shipp, also pictured. Rufus is Sarah Moats' son. Etta Shipp is Richard's mother, and Sarah's daughter-in-law. I lived with Etta and Rufus, my mother's parents, until I was 13 yrs. old. We moved from 12 Barclay Street, Port Jervis, NY, to 300 Ave. O in Matamoras PA, after Sarah died. My Uncle Richard was a very kind soul. In addition to Rufus, Sarah had a son named Bernard (now deceased), a daughter named Ruby Elizabeth (my mother), and a daughter named Shirley (currently living in WV 2010)
