James Azel Rea

James Azel Rea was born in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania in 1827 and died in Alaska, Michigan on March 31, 1894. James was married first to Lucinda Barber on April 11, 1852 in Summit County, Ohio (near Akron) and he and Lucinda were hoteliers (The Empire House Hotel) in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
They moved on to Sparta, Wisconsin after the hotel burned in 1870 and from there, they went to Marshall, Lyon County, Minnesota in 1877. After Lucinda died (August 20, 1883, in Minneapolis), James moved to Alaska, Kent County, Michigan, where he married his housekeeper Hannah Jackson Marsh.
