Nancy Jane Hancock Relations

I notice around the web that y'all have some troubles connecting the ancestors of Nancy Jane Hancock Bundrant. Her parents were, of course, William Hancock and Mary Roberts. What no one seems to have is information on William Hancock b Feb 15 1801 in NC d Sept 2 1876. I believe his parents were James Hancock b Nov 29 1774, d July 20 1845 and Mary Frizzle (of John Frizzle and Mary Roundtree). James Hancock is an eigth generation or so American with a tracable lineage. I have not verified this.
Also of interest is the family connection with Amon G. Carter. Nancy Jane Hancock Bundrant was the Great Aunt of Giles Amon Carter or Amon G. Carter as he is known. Nancy's sister Mary Ann Hancock married William M Carter and their son, William Henry Carter was the father of Amon G. Carter, one of the most influential Americans of his era.

Nancy Jane

My grandmother was Julia Jane Bundrant, the eldest of daughter of Hardin Peter Nathan Bundrant. Her grandmother was Nancy Jane Hancock Bundrant. Thanks for the info. I am beginning to look for more info on my many great, great great etc. ancestors. I always admire them for surviving great hardships and journeys so we are here now. They were good Christian people.

Bundrant/Hancock

My husband, Johnny Willess, is the grandson of Martha Mihallie Bundrant and Robert Emery Willess. Hallie was the daughter of Harden Alexander Bundrant and Nancy Jane Hancock. I also have a copy of this picture, as well as quite a bit of early Bundrant and Hancock information.

Nancy Jane Hancock

Nancy Jane Hancock was a sister of my great-grandmother Rhoda Margaret Hancock. They were daughters of William Hancock and Mary Roberts. Mary Roberts' father was Nathan Roberts, son of Cornelius Roberts.
