Davis and Elizabeth Lanter

Davis Lanter was my great-great grandfather. He was born in 1824, was a captain in the Civil War, confederacy. Before the war he owned three slaves. He was captured and then exchanged at the end of the war. Elizabeth (Bowring) Lanter was born in 1830. They lived in Platte City, Mo. This picture was taken in Leavenworth, Ks.
