City of Nauvoo (ferryboat)

The CITY OF NAUVOO was built in my hometown of Rock Island, Illinois in 1885 by the Kahlke Brothers Boat Yard. It ran from Montrose, Iowa to Nauvoo, Illinois for 56 years. it was retired in 1943. She was 89 feet long and 21 feet wide. Owned for a time by L.E. Reimbold. In 1911, Capt. Jamison was her master and Warren Bain, her engineer. Capt. Jacob Richtman was her pilot in 1912.
