Mrs. Beebe and Miss Krug

Dear Katie,

What a delight to see the South Grove photos! I was one of the first kids to go to the school after it was built, and my brother, Billy, had both Miss Krug and Mrs. Beebe for teachers. I remember having Miss Rudd (3rd), Mrs. Picozzi (4th), Mr. Tobin (5th), and Mrs. Taplin (6th) for teachers. Were any of them still teaching when you were there?

I graduated from Syosset High in 1963 (yes, I am THAT OLD!) LOL

Thanks for sharing these precious photos. They brought back many good memories.

My best regards, Kathy Tracy

South Grove Elementary

Hi, Kathy -
Thanks so much for your comment! I have received a couple of others here, and it is such fun to feel a "reach out & touch" from folks I knew so long ago.

I left Long Island when my family moved to TN in 1970. I believe that Rudd, Taplin, and Picozzi were still there. I have loads of great memories of living in Syosset, and even entertain the thought of perhaps moving back there.

I am an RN now, since 1982, and live/work in Pensacola, FL. If you'd like to email me you can at:

Happy Holidays & thanks again for your comment!
