Martha Ann Buffkin Lane

Ann Buffkin was the second wife of John A. Lane. She had no children of her own but raised John's children by his first wife who had died in childbirth in 1894. The time period for the photograph is unknown but may be around 1920. Her stepson Herbert had nothing but praise for her and fully accepted her as his mother. The family lived in the Belvidere community of Perquimans County NC.
