Mrs. Crossland

Mrs. Crossland

Written on the back of the photo "Mrs. Crossland". Photo from an estate in Western Pennsylvania. Civil War Era photo. Original was a CDV.

Mrs. Crossland could have been from the family of Richard, Elijah, or Samuel Crossland in Fayette County - maybe the wife of a grandson (due to the "Mrs.")?  Then again, it could be any Civil War era "Mrs. Crossland from PA."

Do you recognize her? Please let me know.

I am researching the Crossland family of Fayette County, Adam Crossland, born in Fayette Co. in 1800, moved into OH abt 1820, married Eve Hofaker in 1822, and died in Akron, OH 1828.

The photo may have come from an album owned by the Zachariah Chandler family - possibly in Ohio.

I am not sure if there is a connection

There was a Isabella Prentice who married John M. Crossland She was born Jul 1820 and died 10 Feb 1906 in Uniointown. She and John were in the 1880 census living on Main Street in Uniontown, PA. Her father Thomas Prentice was a teamster and a brickmaker in Uniontown.
