Seymour Taft, b. 1819, Freedom, Cattaraugus, NY, was the son of Benjamin E. Taft and Lucretia McIntyre.
He married in Philura Hawley in Hinsdale, Cattaraugus, NY, She was born in 1822, in New York, the daughter of William and Philura Hawley. She died 3 May 1853, Cattaraugus Co., NY, and is buried in Hinsdale Cemetery.
Seymour then married about 1853-59, in New York, to Eudolpha Morrea, born abt 1828, NY, died PA.
And last, Seymour remarried on 7 Mar 1879 in Wauzeka, Crawford, WI, to Nancy Jennings, born 17 Nov 1825, Perry Co., OH, the daughter of Isaac Jennings and Rhoda Thorpe/Tharp. She died 4 Mar 1909, Crawford Co., WI, and is buried in Old Christ/Pleasant Mound Cemetery.
Seymour died probably in Crawford Co., WI in the mid to late 1880s. He was living in Hindale, Cattaraugus, NY in 1850, Oil Creek Twp., Crawford, PA in 1870, Wauzeka, Crawford, WI in 1880 census. The 1884 History of Crawford Co., WI lists Seymour as living in Haney Twp. He served as Postmaster in Haney. Family rumor is that he owned a store and fell through the ice in the Wisconsin River and was never seen again.
