Barbara Braun / Brown, Columbiana Co., OH - Indiana Co., PA, b. 20 Dec 1817 Darmstadt, Germany. Reportedly came to America with family who had a vineyard along the Rhine so that brothers could avoid military service. Her mother died in New York (city or state?) about six months after their arrival.
While in Columbiana Co., she married Nathan Ross. Marriage performed by Caleb Way, J.P. 7 Jan 1836. Nathan was b. 26 May 1814, Somerset Co, PA, son of Adam Ross and Phoebe Miller. Adam had at least two other marriages.
Barbara and Nathan raised their family in Brushvalley Twp, PA.
