family

i just recently found out my grandfather was born in the castlewood area in 1903, his name was william callahan, he lived with his grandparents edward and nancy newton. william is the son of william callahan sr. and flora etta newton. if anyone has any photos or any information on where they may have lived or if there are any living relatives please contact me. any help would be appreciated.

your great grandmother

I find that very odd, because there was a Flora Etta Newton who was married to Robert William Majors in Castlewood. She died in 1936

Hill School picture

The third cild from the left in the first row is my father John Henderson Houk son of Bessie and Conard Houk. He would have been 9 or 10 years old depending on the year of the picture.

Hill School Castlewood

Hi there,
I can identify the 2nd girl in the 3rd row on the left as Edith Irene Shaffer, my mother. I also went to the Hill School in 1st through 6th. My Aunt Lola Hogue, was a teacher there also. The picture I have is the same one you have and the teacher's name was Florence Badger It is dated as 1920 on the back. I have 4 years of the class pictures with the dates on only 2 of them. I'm sorry but I don't know who the any of the other children are.
