Floyd and Alice Myers Book 50th Wedding Anniversary
50th Wedding Anniversary of Floyd Wellington Book and Alice Lillian Myers Book in 1968.
Alice Lillian Myers, b. 1896, Lancaster Township, d. 1970 and Floyd Wellington Book, b. 1896, Worth Township, d. 1992. They were long time residents of Worth Township, Butler County, PA.
One of Floyd's first jobs was at Forbes Saw Mill, located near Harmony, PA , where he met Alice, around 1916.
Alice was the daughter of Samuel Frederick "Fred" Myers, b. 1851 d. 1934, and Mary Ann Bales Myers, b. 1861 d. 1945, who lived on Scott Ridge, near Harmony, PA. Floyd was the son of William Clinton Book b. 1967 d. 1936 and Mary "Lillian" Davis b. 1876 d. 1951.
After their marriage, Floyd worked at the Eisler Farm in Connoquenessing, from there to the Wilson Farm (now Hereford Manor), and from there to Criders Corners, just north of Cranberry. In 1930, they moved back to Floyd's father's farm in Worth Township, PA., where they farmed, and raised their six children.
