Photo was taken during the dedication of their monument at the Chickamauga Battlefield, Tenn. in 1893.

78th Regiment Co.F Pa Volunteers
My GG Grandfather - SAMUEL J. McBRIDE - was an Officer in this regiment. / Samuel J. McBride enlisted in Co. F, 78th Regiment, Pa. Volunteers on its original organization at Butler, Pa. And was mustered into service of the United States, on the 17th of September, 1861 for the term of three years. He received his commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant on November 25, 1862. On February 6, 1863, he was commissioned as 1st Lieutenant by command of Col. Sirwell. He assumed command of Company F, 78th Regiment on October 24, 1864. He was discharged on November 4, 1864.
