Atlantic Refining Co. Eclipse Works, Franklin, PA

Atlantic Refining Co. "Eclipse" works, oil refinery at Franklin, PA. with the Allegheny River flowing by. Photo taken around 1930, and the plant was shut down in 1937. The workers were moved either to the Philadelphia, PA, or Port Arthur, TX, refineries also owned by Atlantic - later to become ARCO - the Atlantic Richfield Company. The Co was bought out by the British Petroleum Co in 2000.

Robert C. Kennedy's father, Francis F. Kennedy worked for Atlantic Refining Company for 48 years (1910-1958).
