Alexander McDowell

Alexander McDowell got his start in the banking industry as the manager of James Bleakley and Sons, a banking firm in 1870. In 1872, he purchased the business and renamed it "Alex McDowell, Banker." This bank was the forerunner to the McDowell National Bank, which was chartered in 1907.
Alexander McDowell died in 1913.
