Robison Family and Home, Mill Grove, Westmoreland Co., PA

Probably this is a photo that was sent to one of William Robison's descendants (James Robison was his grandson) by the then current owners of the Robison home in 1902.

On the back of the photo is written...
Taken by Mill Groves Our Old Home Feb 2, 1902.

Probably "Taken by Mill Groves" means the photo was taken near Mill Grove, S. Huntingdon Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA.

William Robison / Robinson / Robertson / Robeson family were from Westmoreland Co., PA. William and his family moved to Worthington Twp., Richland Co., OH, 1818-1819.

Recognize anyone? Or the home? Please let me know.

Robinson family - Westmoreland CO.

Cound this family be related to Archibald Robinson (1804-1884 ) from North Huntington Township, Westmoreland Co? More on my website at

It's been so long since I posted this photo and I'm having troubles logging in.
Thanks so much for your replies.

Marilyn - I do not think (from looking at you info posted online) the two families are related.

Melissa - My research *now* shows my Rob*son's were in S. Huntingdon Twp. and are 'possibly' related to Thomas Rob*son who purchased land there beginning in 1788.
Thomas and John Rob*son (brothers?) both began purchasing land near the same time and adjacent to one another.

(Thomas' son?) My ancestors William Robison, his wife Elizabeth (nee?) and their family moved to Vermillion Twp., Richland (now Ashland) Co., OH by 1820.
William's sister Sarah (wife of John W. Howard) also migrated there in the same time period.
Additionally a 'likely' brother James Robison also moved at the same time to nearby Salt Creek Twp., Wayne Co., OH.

As I wrote originally, this photo has been passed down in my family and I would truly love to know more of the houses location. Thanks so much for your interest!

I can not see the picture all that well but we have Robinson's from that part of Pennsylvania that lived near the mill i would like to match some of the faces with pictures that my father has. His grand mother was Sarah Elizabeth Robinson and her son was Raymond F. Robinson, and Sarah's mom was Anne Robinson but not sure of her husbnds name at this time.

Robinson

I have to make some changes to my note the Robinsons I am interested in are my grand father Raymond f. Robinson and his mother Sarah elizabeth Robinson her mother and father are James and Mary Robinson and she had one brother Jacob Robinson. Sorry for the mistake before but I have come a little way in my reaserch. Thank you for any information.
