Father Phalom Philip Mathew Lenahan

Father Phalom "Philip" Mathew Lenahan, born August 08, 1903, in Sugar Notch, PA. Parents John P and Sarah Golden Lenahan, b. Ireland. Died January 22, 1974, at St. Joseph's Manor, Baltimore MD. Priest for the Society of St. Joseph, a Catholic organization established to assist African Americans in the rural parts of the county. In 1961, the Josephites opened St. Joseph's Manor on the edge of Baltimore for aged and sick priests and Rev. Father Lenahan was appointed the first rector.
