Class Photo, Moundsville, WV 1890s

Bernice Eliza Sims Horner and her classmates in Moundsville, Marshall County, WV. Taken somewhere between 1890 and 1895.

Bernice was born in WV, probably Marshall County, on November 4, 1883 and lived in Moundsville until the early 1900's when she, her mother Ruth Elizabeth Jane White Sims and her brother William Alexander Sims, moved to Washington County, PA. They lived on the west side of town until soon after she married in 1915 to my grandfather, Melvin Edward Horner. Her mother stayed in the same house on Fayette St. until her death in 1935. Bernice and Melvin lived in Washington County, mostly in Canton Twp. all their lives. They are both buried in the Horner plot in the Claysville Cemetery, Claysville, PA.
