Herman Charles Altenhof and Christina Barbara Uetz

Herman Charles Altenhof, b. Jan 10, 1855 in Niedersachswerfen, Germany, died Apr 16, 1921 in Pittsburgh. Immigrated to U.S. with older brother Wilhelm Altenhof and other siblings aboard the sailing ship Herzogin von Brabant from Bremen to NYC on Aug 15, 1865 and thereafter traveled to Pittsburgh. He was a barber all in his life in Pittsburgh and reputedly cut Andrew Carnegie's hair. He married Christina Barbara Uetz on Jul 6, 1878 in Pittsburgh. She was born Jul 17, 1855 in Pittsburgh and died Aug 3, 1921 in Pittsburgh.
Photograph probably taken about 1918 in Pittsburgh and obviously displays their patriotic sentiments for their adopted country during the war years.
