Dayton High School/Jr. High School

Dayton High School/Jr. High School

Dayton Jr./Sr. High School (old Main Building) closed in 2000-01 School term. Built upon the site of the old Dayton Civil War Orphanage location. The newer buildings were built on the back 1955 School term & this building renovated.

In the year 2000 there was a Y2K reunion for all former students…over 900 attended in the Auditorium!

“On the hill stands Dayton High School
Reared agaist the sky
Proudly stands our Alma Mater
As the years go by.
“Forward Ever,” be our watchword
“Honor and Prevail.”
Hail to thee, our Alma Mater
Dayton High, All Hail!”

Words: Winifred Neal, Class of 1933 to tune: “Amici”
