Catherine Whitmore was the daughter of Michael Newcomer Whitmer / Whitmore. The Family used both spellings of the name. She was born 13 April 1839 Toby Twp. Armstrong/Clarion Co., PA. She died 23 March 1934 in Denton, Texas.
Catherine married twice. 1st, Frederick Sherman ca. 1853. There were 5 children born to this union. He died before 6 May 1868 the date his estate apprisement was filed.
2nd Husband : Joseph H. Lyburn. 3 children in this marriage. He died ca. 1891 in Denton, Texas.
