Inscription on back of photo reads: "John Moyer son of Joseph Cassel and Rose Moyer was born January the 14 1887. Wandered away from his grandfathers in the mountain October the 5 1889. Was found dead in a swamp 2 miles away October the 9 1889 aged 2 years 8 months and 21 days."
